PlusBus eTicketing Launched Across GB

Our customers asked for PlusBus to be sold as an eTicket and we’ve delivered!

From 7th April 2025 you will be able to buy the brand-new PlusBus Day eTicket, which will include a barcode, to use on your smartphone.

You can buy eTickets to travel to or from the station at either end of your rail journey, or both, depending on where you’re travelling in the UK. You can also enjoy unlimited travel throughout the PlusBus zone showing on your ticket with no peak or off-peak restrictions.

Where is the PlusBus eTicket available?

The PlusBus eTicket is now available for all 280 PlusBus zones. You can find scheme details and prices by searching for PlusBus in your area on this website.

Where can I buy a PlusBus eTicket?

You can add the PlusBus Day eTicket to your train ticket on leading rail ticketing apps, including Trip.com, Trainpal and Trainsplit apps. More rail ticketing apps and train operators are expected to be selling PlusBus eTickets soon. We will keep you up to date about who is selling them right here - keep checking back.

How do I use them?

You just need to show your eTicket to the bus driver to begin with but as the year goes on, more and more drivers will be able to ask you to scan your ticket on the bus.

Can I still buy paper tickets?

Yes you can, there are no plans to replace PlusBus paper or smartcard tickets; eTickets are simply an alternative option for you to buy. Day tickets and longer period products are still available as paper tickets via ticket offices and ticket machines at stations.
