PlusBus is a national scheme that makes it easy and affordable to travel around towns and cities by bus when you combine it with your rail journey.
The PlusBus scheme is managed by Traveline Information Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation funded by bus operators and the Rail Delivery Group (RDG). Traveline works in partnership with bus operators, local authorities, and RDG to administer and develop PlusBus, ensuring it continues to provide convenient and cost-effective travel options for rail passengers.
Traveline took over the management of PlusBus in 2021 and has been actively enhancing the scheme ever since, including the introduction of eTickets, making it easier than ever to buy and use PlusBus on your smartphone. We collaborate closely with bus operators, train companies, and RDG to keep the scheme running smoothly and to develop new services for passengers.
In addition to managing PlusBus, Traveline provides the national public transport information service through our call centre and website, Traveline.info
We also manage the national public transport dataset, which powers bus and train times on journey planners such as Google Maps and other national travel platforms.
