Windermere PLUSBUS (for Ambleside & Grasmere)
A Windermere PLUSBUS ticket gives you unlimited bus travel on participating operators’ services, around the whole of Windermere and also to Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere (as defined by the zone map - see PDF below).
The most frequent services from Windermere rail station to Troutbeck Bridge, Brockhole Visitor Centre, Ambleside and Grasmere are Stagecoach routes 555 and summer open-top bus service 599.
At Grasmere visit the Wordsworth Museum, the church yard where William Wordsworth is buried and the daffodil garden.
